Welcome to the official Skill Level thread. Here, you will learn what an SL is, and how they are determined.

Skill Level Overview:
Skill Levels reflect your overall abilities on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Testers determine your Skill Level by Brawling you three times, recording those three matches, and then by evaluating the material of those matches by watching the three recorded matches. After evaluation, you are given a Skill Level to show your overall Brawling Ability.
Skill Levels appear as small images in your profile, below are 10 of the possible SL's.

RULES:
On Site: You can request to have your SL re-evaluated if you are unsatisfied, however, you may only request an SL Test once every two weeks.

On Brawl: All SL Tests must consist of at least 3 matches. Specific rules are up to your tester.

Playstyle Categories:
While evaluating your three recorderd matches, Testers go through a list of qualities we look for in a good Brawler, and see how well each quality/category applies to you on a scale of 1-5(for a average brawler) or 1-10(above average brawler).

-Move Variety (10/10)
-Timing (5/5)
-Unpredictability (5/5)
-Combo Ability (10/10)

Defensive Category: 25 Points possible
-Dodging/Shielding(10/10)
-Mind (5/5)
-Spacing (5/5)
-Camping ability (5/5)

--Highest percentage lived too: 15 points possible
* 0 - 41% 1 point
* 42 - 83% 2 points
* 84 - 105% 3 points
* 106 - 147% 4 points
* 148% and up 5 points
(tests your directional influence knowledge and ability to survive.)

SL Evaluation Scale:
Below you will see how many points are required to reach a certain Skill Level.

SL1: 0-9/100 Points
(0-3=D, 4-6=C, 7-8=B, 9=A)

SL2: 10-20/100 Points
(10-13=D, 14-16=C, 17-19=B, 20=A)

SL3: 21-30/100 Points
(21-23=D, 24-26=C, 27-29=B, 30=A)

SL4: 31-40/100 Points
(31-33=D, 34-36=C, 37-39=B, 40= A)

SL5: 41-50/100 Points
(41-43=D, 44-46=C, 47-49=B, 50=A)

SL7: 61-70/100 Points

Those numbers i listed in between are the letter grade you will get along side your icon if you fall in those areas for example a brawler who scores a 95/100 score will be a Skill level 10 grade B. or if a person was to get a 39/100 that will be a SKILL LEVEL 4 grade B.

Stages:
During a skill level match there are certain guidelines that must be followed.

1.One of them of course is the rubric that will be used for every SL match.

2. The second one are the stages.

During a SL match 3 different stages must be picked and a minimum of two characters must be picked:

Characters:
When doing an SL match the more different and unique characters you use the better your score will be. Tiers do affect your score too so using only a high tier character to boost your score in this area will not help , this area tests your Character knowledge.
Stages:
- 3, 3-Stock Matches , with a 8 minute timer if needed.

- 1st Match: Neutral Stage(person who is getting tested choice)
- 2nd Match: any stage the tester chooses out of the stages listed.
- 3rd match: any stage the person who is getting tested chooses out of the stages listed.
